Shauna Rustin

Acoma Pueblo

Shauna Garcia-Rustin was born into the Red Corn Clan of Acoma Pueblo on December 31, 1969. It was her father, Elliot Garcia, who taught her to work with clay when she began to express an interest around the age of 12. For many years she collaborated with Patrick Rustin, her Apache husband from California. Together they were known for creating very thin-walled contemporary pottery with delicate designs. Probably the "biggest" awards she earned were the Best of Show ribbons at the New Mexico State Fair in 1998 and again in 2000.

Shauna and Patrick sign their pottery as either "S Garcia, Acoma, NM" or "Garcia-Rustin".
