Sandra Victorino was born into Acoma Pueblo in 1958. After watching her grandmother make pottery all through her childhood, Sandra began working with clay around the age of ten. Another inspiration for her as she was growing up was her aunt, Dorothy Torivio.
Sandra specializes in thin-walled Acoma pottery, primarily vases, tear drop jars and seed pots painted with spiral, swirl, checkerboard, step-to-step, snowflake, half-snowflake and fine line designs.
There is an interview with Sandra and her son, Cletus, where she demonstrates how she makes her pottery and tells what the designs she uses mean to her. The video was live-streamed in August, 2020.
