Debby Brown is the daughter of Sarah Garcia and granddaughter of Jessie Garcia (two of the Four Matriarchs of the Acoma Pueblo pottery families). She grew up learning the ancient art of working with clay while helping her mother and grandmother go through their pottery-making processes. Today she likes to work with large pots (like her grandmother) and she still uses many of the designs she learned from her grandmother.
