Rachel Concho was born into the Roadrunner Clan in Acoma Pueblo in 1936. She learned the art of making pottery from her mother, Santana Cerno. Rachel earned the Best in Show Award at the 2000 Santa Fe Indian Market. She has also earned First, Second and Third Place Ribbons at the Eight Northern Pueblos Arts and Crafts Show. She is the sister of Joseph Cerno and the mother-in-law of Carolyn Lewis-Concho.
Rachel's designs are derived from ancient pot shards found on the lands of Acoma Pueblo, including ancient Mimbres designs.
