Berleen Estevan was born into Acoma Pueblo in 1975. About the age of 10 she began working with clay under the guidance of her grandmother, Lucy Juanico.
Today she likes painting ancient Mimbres designs, kokopellis, animals and angels. While she still digs her own clay and hand-coils her own pots, she also sometimes paints greenware... She has become well-known for her intricate painting, especially of insects.
Berleen signs her pieces as B. Estevan, Acoma, NM.
