Diane Lewis was born into the Yellow Corn Clan at Acoma Pueblo in 1960. Her mother was Katherine Lewis and her sisters, Marilyn Ray, Carolyn Lewis-Concho, Judy Lewis and Rebecca Lucario, are all well known traditional potters. Diane began producing pottery at the age of 21 and now specializes in handmade seed pots and small bowls with Mimbres-Revival and traditional Acoma designs.
There is an interview with Judy and her sister Diane where she demonstrates how she makes her pottery and what the designs mean to her. The video was streamed live in August, 2020.
Diane signs her pottery as: D. Lewis-Garcia, Acoma, NM and adds her fish hallmark.
