José Quezada Talamontes is the oldest child of Nicolas and Gloria Quezada. He learned to make pots from his father and his work still often looks like his father's at first glance, until you notice how long the curving sickle-like lines are and how they enhance the sense of movement in the design on a pot. He and his wife, Marcela Herrera de Quezada, work together on the pots. She does the sanding and polishing, he does the painting and firing.
