Jose Marin

Mata Ortiz

Jose Marin was a potter working in Mata Ortiz. He seemed to prefer making black-on-black pottery, covering his surfaces in cuadrillos patterns. At least that's what I get from seeing only a few pieces of his work several years ago. I don't know if he's still making pottery or not as we only see "curated" collections of pottery on the US side of the border and I haven't seen any from Jose Marin in a while.
