Myra Little Snow

Santa Clara Pueblo

Myra Little Snow is a member of the Camilio Tafoya family of Santa Clara Pueblo. She was born in 1962, a daughter of Lucy Year Flower and Joseph Louis Tafoya. Through watching and working with her mother, Myra was making her own pottery by the time she was 12.

Myra also credits her grandfather, Camilio Sunflower Tafoya, her aunt Grace Medicine Flower, and cousins Forrest Naranjo, Greg Lonewolf, Rosemary Lonewolf and Susan Lonewolf with inspiration and support.

Myra has made several different styles of pottery but her favorite seems to be the seed pot. She usually makes black seed pots decorated with lightly carved and sgraffito geometric designs. Her seed pots have earned her at least one First Place ribbon at the Santa Fe Indian Market.
