Goldenrod
Santa Clara Pueblo
Goldenrod was born into Santa Clara Pueblo in 1942 as Gloria Garcia, daughter of Petra Gutierrez. She began producing pottery in 1974, working mostly in sgraffito-decorated redware and blackware.
Among her siblings are Thelma Talachy , Lois Gutierrez de la Cruz and Minnie Vigil . Her husband John is the half-brother of Tina Garcia , Greg Garcia and Virginia Garcia .
She earned First Place and Best of Division ribbons at the Santa Fe Indian Market in 1977. She and her husband John collaborate in the pottery making and have earned many awards since, but I've only ever seen her signature on anything, never his.
