Dominique Toya was born into the Corn Clan at Jemez Pueblo in 1971 as Damian. Her mother is Maxine Toya, one of the premier potters at Jemez.
Dominique was interested in clay early in life and by the time she was five years old, she was producing pinch pottery figures of her own.
Dominique has specialized in micaceous clay pottery for many years now and has earned many awards, including a Blue Ribbon for Best in Class at the 2009 Santa Fe Indian Market.
