Gilbert and Paulita Pacheco (parents of Rose) used to make handmade stone strung jewelry, then they turned to pottery when Paulita's eyes gave out. They made that switch at the urging of Paulita's brother, Robert Tenorio.

Born in 1968, Rose made her first pottery figures while working with her parents when she was seven years old. When her mother's health started failing (Paulita died in 2008), Rose and her Navajo boyfriend, Billy Veale, stepped in and assumed the family's pottery making business. They both make, paint and fire the pots, although Rose's pots have a more traditional Santo Domingo feel to them.
