Inez Ortiz

Cochiti Pueblo

(Juanita) Inez Ortiz was a potter from Cochiti Pueblo. She mostly made figures. She learned the whole process of how to make them as she was growing up, watching her mother Seferina Ortiz making pottery. Inez also learned some from her brother, Virgil Ortiz. There came a time when Inez was exhibiting at the Santa Fe Indian Market and earning ribbons for her work.

Inez passed her knowledge on to her daughter, Lisa Holt, and to her son-in-law, Harlan Reano, both of which have become award-earning potters.
