Susie Crank is a daughter of Rose Williams, the matriarch of Diné pottery making. Like her sister Alice Cling, she excels at making Diné pottery.
Like Alice, Susie learned from her mother as she was growing up but she didn't really get into making pottery until later in life. She credits her sister Alice with teaching her the really fine points of the process. Unlike Alice, Susie never left the reservation to compete in any shows.
Susie signs the bottom of her pieces "Susie W Crank Navajo" or "Susie Williams Navajo". Lorenzo Spencer is her husband.
